Many a man's greatest victories are known to him alone. And while such men may not be themselves "great," they gaze from their summits upon the same sunsets as presidents and laureates, autocrats and kings. For whether we claim a peak or road less taken, or even just stop taking the road we've been, all glory comes from knowing the deed was done- no matter who else knows. It is not for fame or fortune, nor delectable frozen produce that we brave the treachorous ascent, but because we owe it to ourselves.
