Chew Man Fu: Roll on

We all have our worthy causes. The things that get us out of bed in the morning, and put us back in them exhausted at night. But no change worth seeing is seen through in a day, and you won't see the days worth dying for if you work yourself to death. The dance is two steps forward, one step back, and there won't be any boogie woogie woogie at the end- just another song that sounds the same. So make sure you take time to catch your breath.

JJ and Jeff: The secret to their success

Making lemonade from lemons takes vision, resourcefulness, and tenacity, but no one will buy it if you're not out sitting at the booth with your sign up. No grand scheme or great idea has ever made it off the ground without work. Hours upon endless hours of it. Just ask the telephone guy. What I mean to say is that half of everything we do is just showing up. Sure all those jerks we want something heavy to fall on so they'll make room for the rest of us had the foresight and follow-through to realize their opportunity, but more importantly they were present when it came along. Even if the weather sucked and they had Monday hangovers, they didn't miss their chance, and now they can laugh and throw poo at the rest of us. Maybe it'll be your turn this week...

Haiku for the new year

Posted by Sir Cucumber at 9:18 AM on Friday, December 28, 2007

video game haiku from the resigned gamer

New Year's brings an opportunity to reflect on our past, and resolve oneself to betterment in the future. My first resolution for next year is to write one friggin haiku that meets ouroborosity's approval. To that end, these three go out to self improvement:

TRACK & FIELD

my socks race in place
victory requires your all
don't just slap the pad

MARIO PAINT

be more creative
animate music and art
I'd rather swat flies

MAGICAL DINOSAUR TOUR

give up Fighting Street
for reptile scatology
resolution breaks
