The reason it seems like there's never a good time is because there never is. You can bottle things up, but the genie always gets out in the end- it's a simple matter of time and friction. The question is which direction the bottle points, and whether there's going to be an explosion. Sometimes they're inescapable, but the alternative is that they're inevitable. In real life, winners don't avoid the penalty box, so you might as well get it over with.
